dc.description.abstract | KÖRNIG, G.: The gastropodfauna of the floodplain forests in Middle Europa.- Hercynia N.F. 33 (2000): 257-279. The gastropodfauna of Middle German floodplain forests will be described on the basic of 46 local samples. In the soft- and hardwoodforests of the rivers Saale, Lower Weiße Elster, Lower Mulde and Middle Eibe 644 species could be recorded. This community will be represented by 5 (6) characteristic species, which are all resistant: Balea biplicata, Succinea putris, Aegopinella nitidula, A. nitens, Fruticicola fruticum, Arianta arbustorum. A view to dates I 00 years ago proves that the dynamics of the origin by the fauna has not be finished. Because the floodplain forests included all into nature reserves the faunawill be protected before long. A comparison with the gastropodfauna of the Middle European floodplain forests shows a !arge correspondence. Largely the same species are listed. Also the same 5 (6) species characterize this community. In the Middle European floodplain forests alltogether 80 species were found. In the whole region some species reach their areal Iimits. In this way the fauna can be distinguished by zoogeographical subcommunities as follows: - East European-karpatean sc. with Clausilia pumila, Urticicola umbrosus in the valleys of the rivers Weichsel, Oder, Upper Eibe, Neiße, Spree, eastern Donau, Saale and Weiße Elster. - Alpin-karpatean sc. with Semilimax semilimax, Trichia striolata, Petasine unidentata, Urticola umbrosus in the Austrian part of river Donau. - Alpin-western European sc. with Trichia striolata, T. villosa, Urticola umbrosus in the western part of river Donau and the Upper Rhein. - Western European sc. with Vitrinobrachium breve, Phenacolimax major in the valleys of Middle and Lower Rhein. | eng |
