The manufacturing industry, particularly in the area of customized single and small series production of complex products, is facing considerable challenges in the course of Industry 4.0. These include unplanned events and production interruptions, increasing customer individuality, and a high number of variants. The difficulties in managing short-term production and maintenance decisions in complex and dynamic environments are critical. Traditional, non- coordinated maintenance measures based on manual tools are quickly reaching their limits here. This often leads to reduced availability of production resources and a waste of resources due to unused time slots. The following concept aims to integrate preventive maintenance strategies into the production control of single and small series production. A major result of this integration is the provision of decision recommendations for planners within the operational planning horizon using a Job Shop Scheduling model. Decision support should make it possible to react effectively to unplanned events and thus make efficient use of unused time slots. The aim is to create resilient processes and generate a solid planning result.eng
